The
radius-server host
Global Configuration mode command specifies a RADIUS server host. To delete the
specified RADIUS host, use the
no
form of this command.

Parameters
•
ip-address
— IP address of the RADIUS server host.
•
hostname —
Hostname of the RADIUS server host. (Range: 1-158 characters)
•
auth-port-number
— Port number for authentication requests. The host is not used for authentication if the
port number is set to 0. (Range: 0-65535)
•
timeout
— Specifies the timeout value in seconds. (Range: 1-30)
•
retries
— Specifies the retransmit value. (Range: 1-10)
•
deadtime
— Length of time in minutes during which a RADIUS server is skipped over by transaction
requests. (Range: 0-2000)
•
key-string
— Specifies the authentication and encryption key for all RADIUS communications between the
device and the RADIUS server. This key must match the encryption used on the RADIUS daemon. To specify
an empty string, enter "". (Range: 0-128 characters)
•
source
— Specifies the source IP address to use for communication. 0.0.0.0 is interpreted as request to use
the IP address of the outgoing IP interface.
•
priority
— Determines the order in which servers are used, where 0 has the highest priority. (Range: 0-65535)
•
type
— Specifies the usage type of the server. Possible values:
login

dot.1x
or
all

Default Configuration
No RADIUS server host is specified.
The port number for authentication requests is 1812.

User Guidelines
To specify multiple hosts, multiple
radius-server host
commands can be used.
If no host-specific timeout, retries, deadtime or key-string values are specified, global values apply to each
RADIUS server host.
The address type of the source parameter must be the same as the
ip-address
parameter.
