Attention!
The power pack is supplied partially charged. Be-
fore using the device for the first time, fully charge
the power pack to ensure effective performance.

The power pack must be charged in accordance
with the instructions in the supplementary docu-
mentation.

Read and observe the operating instruc-
tions for the power pack and the charger.

Align the power pack [C] with the recess [A] on
the tool handle.
Î
Slide the power pack [C] into the tool until you
hear it click into place and it is seated securely

Switching on the device

Before switching on the device for the first
time, remove the cable tie (if present) from
the
on/off switch [A] .

Remove the protective cover.
Î
Press the lockout switch [B] forward and hold it in
this position

Press the on/off switch [A]

Press the on/off switch on the bow-shaped
handle [C]

Î
Hold down the on/off switch and the on/off switch
on the bow-shaped handle to continue operating
the device.

The device is in operation and the cutting blade is

Never hold the device by the shield.

In the correct hand position, one hand encloses
the handle [A] . The other hand encloses the bow-
shaped handle [E] .
Cutting
Cutting the top of the hedge

-To cut the hedge top, perform swinging/sweeping
movements to the left and right using the hedge
trimmer.
-For optimum cutting results, maintain the cutting
blade in a slightly inclined position in the direction
of the cutting movement.
Cutting the hedge sides

-If the hedge sides are to be cut, start at the bottom
part of the hedge and cut upwards.
-For optimum cutting results, maintain the cutting
blade in a slightly inclined position in the direction
of the cutting movement.
-Cut the sides of the hedge so that the hedge nar-
rows towards the top. This ensures uniform hedge
growth.
Cutting with the saw function
(power-cutting function)

The small saw [B] on the cutting blade can be
used on branches that are too thick for the cutting
blade [A] .
-Position the saw blade as close as possible to the
start of the branch to be removed.
-Position the saw blade against the branch.
-Switch on the hedge trimmer and let the saw blade
cut on its own, without applying any pressure, until
it cuts through the entire branch.
Note
The maximum cutting capacity of the saw
blade is 38 mm. Do not cut any branches
that are thicker than 38 mm.
