12) After chamber is clamped into position with the three cleats, firmly hold
the chamber and vibrator and hand tighten the Cap Nut.
NOTE:
An improperly tightened cap nut will cause powder to enter the chamber and
cap threads and make future removal of the cap difficult.
4.5 SERVICE
TIPS
A. FLOW
DIFFICULTIES
There are two types of difficulties that may occur with powder: too much or too
little. Some causes of powder difficulties are the following:
1)
Worn tips can cause erratic powder flow, and clogged nozzle tips
prevent powder from flowing.
2)
A Mixing Chamber with an excessive amount of powder can cause an
increase in powder flow due to the travel of powder down the breather
tube, whereas a Mixing Chamber with a minimal amount of powder can
produce an inefficient flow caused by the loss of powder weight.
3)
A slightly heavier than normal flow is noticeable after the Auxiliary
Chamber has been filled.
4)
An initial heavy burst of powder lasting for a fraction of a second may
be experienced when the Footswitch is first actuated. This momentary
heavy mix is normal. It is due to small amounts of settled powder in the
line. This may be corrected by changing the orifice plate size.
5)
Reused, contaminated, or improper powders. These powders can
decrease flow or clog the unit completely, especially at the Mixing
Chamber orifices and nozzle tip.
NEVER REUSE POWDER!!
CRYSTAL MARK, INC.
approved powders should be
used exclusively.
6)
Insufficient nozzle pressure, usually due to leaks, will reduce cutting
speed.
7)
Leaks around the base of the Mixing Chamber can result in decreased
powder flow.
8)
Visible leaks which can be detected by the pressurized powder.
9)
Inoperative vibrator caused by broken, loose or shorted magnetic coil
leads.
10) Loose or broken vibrator springs or improper vibrator adjustment.
