AIR CLEANER CHECK/CLEAN
A dirty air cleaner will restrict air flow to the combustion
system. To help prevent problems, service the air cleaner
regularly. Service more frequently when operating the
generator in extremely dirty areas.
!
WARNING: Do not use gasoline or low flash point
solvents for cleaning. They are flammable and explosive
under certain conditions.
!
CAUTION: Never run the generator without the air
cleaner. Rapid engine wear may result.
1.
Loosen the cover screws and remove the right
maintenance door.
2.
Remove the air cleaner case retaining screws. Remove
the case front and check the element. Clean or replace
the element if necessary.
3.
Wash the element in a non-flammable or low flash point
solvent and dry it thoroughly.
4. Soak the element in clean engine oil and squeeze out the
excess oil.
5.
Reinstall the air filter element and the air cleaner case
front. Tighten the retainer screws securely.
6. Reinstall the right maintenance door and tighten the
screws securely
