Change the oil every fifty (50) hours or
at least once a year if the snow thrower
is not used for fifty (50) hours.
TO CHANGE ENGINE OIL
1. Position the snow thrower so that
the
oil drain plug
is at the lowest
point on the engine.
2. When the engine is warm, remove
the
oil drain plug
(see Figure 17)
and the
oil fill cap/dipstick
(see
Figure 16). Drain the oil into a suit-
able container.
3. After draining all the oil, reinstall the
oil drain plug securely.
4. Fill the engine crankcase with the
recommended motor oil, pouring
slowly.

TO ADJUST OR REPLACE THE SPARK PLUG
Check the
spark plug
every
25
hours.
Replace the
spark plug
if the elec-
trodes are pitted or burned, if the porce-
lain is cracked, or every
100
hours of
use.
The spark plug is housed in the engine
compartment under the top cover and
cannot be seen under normal condi-
tions.
1. Open the spark plug
access door
on the control panel (Figure 18).
2. The spark plug and wire are now
visible.
3. Remove the spark plug wire.
4. Clean the area around the spark
plug base to prevent dirt from enter-
ing the engine when the spark plug
is removed.
5. Remove the spark plug.
6. Check the spark plug. If the spark
plug is cracked, fouled or dirty, it
must be replaced .
7. Set the gap between the electrodes
of the new spark plug at 0.030 inch
(Figure 19).
8. Install the spark plug in the cylinder
head and firmly tighten.
