The Plato Control App for Android
3.1.
Introduction
The Plato App provides an easy to use, intuitive control surface to manage all aspects of
Plato
’s operation. The App should
be running at all times on Plato itself, and the touchscreen
on Plato can be used to control its operation. However, it is often more convenient to use a
remote device (standard tablet or smart-phone) to allow remote operation of Plato and its
features. Provided your remote device has access to the same network as Plato, you will
have access to Plato and its functions, even if Plato is located in a different room of the
house.
Plato is now supplied with a basic Android Kindle Fire tablet which supports the Plato control
app. See section 3.6 for details on how to download the Plato app to the supplied tablet.
This section describes the operation of the Android control App. An iOS version of the app is
also available for iOS based devices. (See section 18) for details on using Plato with an iOS
device.
The Android version of Plato
’s control app is freely available fr
om the Google PLAY, or
Amazon app stores. Simply type
‘
Plato Convert Technologies
’ into the app search and you
will find the app. Note that the app is capable of controlling many UPnP devices, but is
intended for use by Plato customers. For this reason the app will remain unusable until it has
detected a Plato device on your network.
Note that we realise operating Plato can be a tricky business, and not everyone has time to
read a 100 page user manual. So, we have generated a number of short How-To videos
together with a list of common questions to help. Please go to our Plato online support page
