d) Pairing the app and running sensor via Bluetooth

®

4.0

Bluetooth

®

version 4.0 is required for pairing. Bluetooth

®

 version 4.0 must be supported.

1.  Ensure that the Bluetooth

®

function on your mobile device is

switched on.

2.  Bring the running sensor and the mobile device to within

10 cm of each other to ensure that the sensor is detected
accurately with the strongest signal.

3.  Make sure that no other Bluetooth

®

 sensors are active within

a 20 m radius.

4.  Go to the settings in the ALA COACH+ app, add a new sensor

and then con

¿

rm your selection by tapping the menu option for

the corresponding sensor.

5.  Shake the sensor up and down to simulate running.
6. ALA COACH+ recognises the sensor; con

¿

rm your selection

by tapping the menu option "Running sensor" to complete the
pairing process.

Consult the app operating instructions or software support for information on how to use ALA
COACH+.

e) Calibrating

You can calibrate the sensor, i.e. adjust it to your body and running circumstances in order to ensure that
training data is measured accurately. For example, stride length and height vary from runner to runner,
which would lead to different distance readings. Even after calibration, distance measurements may not be
exact because factors such as running technique, nature of the running surface and its gradient affect the
measurement readings.

1.  In the ALA COACH+ app, go to the menu option

ĺ

 Setting

ĺ

 My Sensors

ĺ

 Foot Pod

ĺ

 Foot Pod Calibration

2.  Choose a known distance, e.g. between two milestones,

street lamps etc. and complete this distance in the ALA
COACH+ calibration mode. The distance must be at least
400 m; 800 m is ideal.

3.  Press “Start” and begin running to calibrate the running

sensor.

4.  Press “Stop” when you have run the corresponding distance.
5.  Press “Save” until “stride write OK” is displayed.

Maintenance and cleaning

•  The product does not require maintenance except for occasional cleaning. Use a soft, antistatic and lint-

free cloth to clean the device.

•  Do not use any abrasive or chemical cleaning materials.
•  Check the optical sensor from time to time. Use a soft brush to remove dust particles from the sensor.
