Operation
a) Inserting the battery
OPEN
1. Remove the battery compartment cover from the underside of the
running sensor by turning anticlockwise. Use two
¿
ngers.

2. Insert a CR2032 battery with correct polarity in the battery compartment
(observe plus/+ and minus/-). The positive terminal (+) points
downwards. Ensure that the O-ring sealing is inserted correctly.

3. Replace the battery compartment cover.

4. Lock the battery compartment cover by turning clockwise with both

ngers.
b) Securing the running sensor to your shoe
1. Remove the running sensor from the holder.
2. Thread the sensor holder under the laces of a shoe, as shown in the
picture.
3. Insert the running sensor into the holder in the correct position.
4. Click the sensor into place. Ensure that the sensor is in a secure
position so that it will not come off when running.
c) Installing the ALA Coach+ app
1. Go to the Apple App Store or Google Play and search for the ALA COACH+ app.
2. Download the ALA COACH+ app onto your mobile device and follow the on-
screen installation instructions.
3. After installation you must pair the app and the running sensor via a Bluetooth
®
connection so that data can be displayed.

Intended use
The running sensor measures and displays training data such as running speed, the number of paces you
have taken and the distance covered. This data can help you to monitor your training program and keep to
your personal training plan. The data can be displayed using a display application on a Bluetooth
®
-enabled
mobile device. The ALA COACH+ app with Bluetooth
®
Smart (Bluetooth
®
4.0 /BT 4.0) for mobile devices
is the recommended display application. The running sensor can be used with devices that have Mac OS
iOS 5.0 or above, or a version of the Android operating system that is 4.3 or above. Mobile devices must be
equipped with Bluetooth
®
version 4.0, e.g. the iPhone 4S / iPhone 5 and iPad3 or Samsung Galaxy tablets.

4.0 is used for data transmission. The product is only intended for private use. It is not designed
for commercial use. The product must not be used for medical purposes or for providing information to the
public. The product is weatherproof.
For safety and approval purposes (CE), you must not rebuild and/or modify this product. If you use the
product for purposes other than those described above, the product may be damaged. In addition, improper
use can cause hazards such as short circuiting,

re, electric shock etc. Read the instructions carefully and
keep them. Make this product available to third parties only together with its operating instructions.

a) Persons / Product
• The product is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. These may become dangerous
playing material for children.
• Protect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong jolts, high humidity,
moisture,

ammable gases, vapours and solvents.
• Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
• If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of operation and protect it from
any accidental use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if the product:
- is visibly damaged,
- is no longer working properly,
- has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
- has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.
• Please handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height can damage
the product.
• Also observe the safety and operating instructions of any other devices which are connected
to the product.
• For people with health problems, the product must only be used after consulting a doctor. The
same applies if you have a pacemaker.
• Use the product only in temperate climates, not in tropical climates.
• The product is not suitable for bathing, showering, swimming or diving. When wearing the
sensor, do not run in shallow water such as the water line on a beach or puddles. The running
sensor is splashproof, but it is not waterproof.
b) Batteries
• Correct polarity must be observed while inserting the battery.
• The battery should be removed from the device if it is not used for a long period of time to
avoid damage through leaking. Leaking or damaged batteries might cause acid burns when
in contact with skin, therefore use suitable protective gloves to handle corrupted batteries.
• Batteries must be kept out of reach of children. Do not leave batteries lying around, as there is
a risk that children or pets may swallow them.
• Batteries must not be dismantled, short-circuited or thrown into

re. Never recharge non-
rechargeable batteries. There is a risk of explosion!
