Installation
When drilling holes in walls or when bolting to walls, ensure that no cables or
lines are damaged.
The supplied wireless bell push is suitable for outdoor use (IP44). The wire-
less chime is only intended for use in dry indoor locations.
Installation of the wireless bell push
The wireless bell push can be mounted stationary with suitable mounting material (2 mounting
holes can be found in the casing of the wireless bell push. Alternatively, double-sided adhesive
tape is included in the package, with which the wireless bell push can also be attached to a
grease and dust-free surface.
To install, proceed as follows:
• Find a suitable location for mounting the wireless bell push.
• Open the casing of the wireless bell push.
• There are two mounting holes in the casing. Mark these (e.g. with a pencil) on the wall.
• Drill the holes for mounting into the wall.
• Attach the casing to the wall using suitable mounting material.
• Close the casing.
Mounting the wireless chime
To mount the wireless chime to a wall there is a fixture provided on the rear.
Inserting/replacing the batteries
Open the casing of the wireless bell push. Insert a 12V battery of the type 23A in the „battery
compartment“ (E), paying attention to the correct polarity (see the labelling in the battery com-
partment or the top illustration in image D). Close the casing again.
The batteries need to be replaced if the range of the wireless bell push is significantly reduced
or the control-LED (A) no longer lights when the buttons are used.
Open the wireless chime’s „battery compartment“ (5) and insert 2 x 1.5 Mignon batteries (type:
AA), paying attention to the correct polarity. Close the „battery compartment“ (5) again.
Selecting the transmission channel
• Remove the cover of the „DIP-fix switch for selecting the transmission channel“ (4) on the wire-
less chime using a screw driver.
• Open the casing of the wireless bell push.
• Place the the „DIP-fix“ switch (4) on the wireless chime and the „DIP-fix switch“ (4) on the wire-
less bell in the same position.
☞
The wireless chime does not react to the wireless bell push, if different trans-
mission channels (=different switch positions) are selected for the wireless
bell push and the wireless chime!
Selecting the chime sound
After the batteries have been inserted correctly and the transmission channel has been deter-
mined, the desired chime sound can be selected.
Open the casing of the wireless bell push.
Select the desired sound using the „SELECT“ button (C). The sound can be played by pressing
the „PLAY“ button (B).
Close the casing of the wireless bell push, after successfully selecting the chime sound.
Transmission range
The transmission range for the radio signals between the components is up to 80m under opti-
mum conditions.
☞
This value, however, is the so-called „open space range“ (range the trans-
mitter and receiver are visible to each other, without interfering influences).
In practical operation, however, there are walls, ceilings of rooms etc.
between the transmitter and the receiver, which reduce the range accord-
ingly.
Due to the different influences on the radio transmission, no specific range
can be guaranteed.
However, trouble-free operation is usually possible in a detached house.
The range can sometimes be limited considerably by:
• walls, reinforced concrete ceilings
• coated/metallised insulated glass
• proximity to metal & conducting objects (e.g. radiators)
• proximity to human bodies
• Broadband interferences, e.g. in residential areas (DECT telephones, mobile phones, radio-
controlled headphones, radio-controlled speakers, radio-controlled weather stations, baby
phones etc.)
• Proximity to electric motors, transformers, power-supply units, computers
• The proximity to improperly shielded or uncovered operating computers or other electric appli-
ances
Disposal
a) In general
Please dispose of the device when it is no longer of use, according to the current statutory
requirements.
b) Batteries and rechargeable batteries
As a consumer you are required (Battery Ordinance) to responsibly dispose of all used batter-
ies and rechargeable batteries; it is forbidden to throw them away with the normal house-
hold waste!
Contaminated batteries/rechargeable batteries are labelled with these symbols to
indicate that disposal in the domestic waste is forbidden. The designations for the
heavy metals involved are: Cd = cadmium, Hg = mercury, Pb = lead.
Used batteries, rechargeable batteries as well as coin cells can be returned to col-
lection points in your municipality, our stores or wherever batteries/rechargeable
batteries/coin cells are sold!
You thus fulfil the legal requirements and make your contribution to protecting the environment!
Maintenance and Cleaning
Except for replacing the batteries as described, the device is maintenance-free.
To clean the outside of the product, a dry, soft and clean cloth is sufficient. Do not use any
aggressive cleaning agents.
