Starting your System
Perform the following steps to start (boot) your Compaq Professional
Workstation:
1.
Make sure the system is on.
2.
Plug the power cord into the system and then into the wall outlet.
3.
Turn on any external devices, monitor power, and system unit power
button (shown in figure).
4.
After waiting for the monitor to warm up, adjust the contrast and
brightness to obtain a readable screen display, if necessary.
5.
Allow your system to complete the power-on self-test (POST) and
device initialization. This takes approximately one [1] minute.
IMPORTANT:
Refer to the information supplied with your monitor for adjustment
instructions.
Sleep Mode
The Compaq Professional Workstation XP1000 system is industry-compliant
with standard ACPI specifications and provides support for several sleep
modes. Sleep mode for your system is operating system-dependent. The
power LED blinks during some sleep modes. An advantage of sleep mode is
