Buckle vehicle seat belt and tighten lap belt to remove all slack

NOTE

: For lap and shoulder belt with shoulder belt that is switchable

from an emergency locking shoulder belt to a locking shoulder

belt, do not switch the shoulder belt into the locking mode at

this time.

Locate the tether anchor for the seating location being used.

NOTE:

Check vehicle owners manual for tether anchor location.

DO NOT use cargo tie downs or other attachment points

not intended for use with car seats.

Attach top tether hook

to vehicle top tether anchor hardware

and pull strap to tighten top tether removing any slack. Check

that the tether strap is not twisted and tighten the tether strap to

remove all slack. Final tightening will occur in a later step.

NOTE:

1. To lengthen the tether strap, tip the tether belt adjuster and

pull the tether strap back through the adjuster.

2. If top tether anchor

is not available in vehicle, see vehicle

owner’s manual or Top Tether Information in “Selecting A

Vehicle Seating Location” section.

Tighten vehicle seat belt to secure the car seat.

For vehicle lap and shoulder belts:

- Open shoulder belt lock-off on side of base opposite vehicle

seat belt buckle. Rotate locking tabs down and lift

lock-off cover

- Position shoulder belt in shoulder belt lock-off and close

shoulder belt lock-off onto shoulder belt

- Push lock-off cover down and rotate locking tab up.

Place knee on car seat

. While pressing down in center of car seat

to compress the vehicle seat cushion, pull on shoulder belt to tighten

lap belt. Rocking the car seat from side to side will assist in getting the

lap belt tightly adjusted.

For vehicle lap belt only:

Place knee on car seat

. While pressing down in center of car seat

to compress the vehicle seat cushion, pull on free end of lap belt to tighten

lap belt. Rocking the car seat from side to side will assist in getting the

lap belt tightly adjusted.

Snugly adjust Top Tether Strap by pulling on free end.

Check for secure installation. Gripping side of base, pull car seat front to

back and left to right to check for secure installation

. Vehicle lap

belt MUST stay tight.

- If vehicle lap belt does not stay tight or car seat can not be securely

installed, try a different seating location.

For rear-facing use, check for proper recline – Reference Line must be horizontal.

If reference line is not horizontal, loosen LATCH lower anchor belt, adjust padding

per step 5 above, and retighten LATCH lower anchor belt.
