Locate the tether anchor for the seating location being used.
NOTE:
Check vehicle owners manual for tether anchor location.
DO NOT use cargo tie downs or other attachment points
not intended for use with car seats.
- Attach top tether hook

to vehicle top tether anchor hardware

and pull strap to tighten top tether removing any slack. Check
that the tether strap is not twisted and tighten the tether strap to
remove all slack.
NOTE:
1. To lengthen the tether strap, tip the tether belt adjuster
and pull the tether strap back through the adjuster.

is not available in vehicle, see vehicle
owner’s manual or Top Tether Information in “Selecting A
Vehicle Seating Location” section.
3. Tether strap should always be used when a tether anchor is available.
The top tether is used for both rear-facing and forward-facing use.
Snugly adjust Top Tether Strap by pulling on free end.
Check for secure installation. Gripping side of base, pull car seat front
to back and left to right to check for secure installation

. Vehicle
lap belt MUST stay tight.
- If vehicle lap belt does not stay tight or car seat can not be securely
installed, try a different seating location.
For rear-facing use, rotate the seat into the rear-facing use position. See
“Changing Car Seat Use position” Section and check for proper recline –
Reference Line must be horizontal.
- If reference line is not horizontal, loosen vehicle seat belt, adjust padding
per step 6 on page 26, and retighten vehicle seat belt.

Removal Of Car Seat Installed With Vehicle Seat Belt:
Tip tether strap adjuster to loosen tether strap

Depress retainer spring and unhook tether hook from vehicle
top tether anchor

Unbuckle vehicle seat belt.
- Pressing down in center of car seat to reduce tension on vehicle
seat belt will make it easier to unbuckle vehicle seat belt.
For lap and shoulder belt installation, open belt lock-off and
remove vehicle seat belt.
Storage Of Lower Anchor Belt And Connectors:
When not using the LATCH System, store the
lower anchor belt and hook-on connectors by
snapping hook-on connectors onto LATCH
connector storage bars on back of base

. Pull on free end of lower anchor belt
to adjust length of belt.
If not using top tether, snap tether hook onto
tether storage bar on back of base.
