Performance Yacht
Some options may be equipped with multiple
batteries. There is a cranking battery for each
engine or can be two batteries in parallel for 12 volt
house power and a battery for the optional
generator.
There is a battery charger for the house and
cranking batteries. The battery chargers are
powered by either the dockside or generator 120 V
AC power. The generator battery is charged by the
generator.
All batteries are isolated from each other by a
battery switch. When the engines and ignition
switches are OFF the isolator prevents house
battery loads from discharging the cranking
batteries. When the batteries are being charged by
the alternators, the isolator automatically isolates
the batteries and will distribute the charge among
the batteries according to individual need.
The cabin distribution panel is labeled as follows:

There are also six indicator lights, one for each
breaker.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS
If your Cobalt is equipped with an optional 110-volt
or 220-volt alternating current (VAC) shore power
system, or the optional generator, this will supply
the electricity for the 110 VAC system. (Shore
power only supplies electricity for the 220 VAC
system.) These systems have a distribution panel
located within the master cabin. Batteries power
the 12 VDC system.
The AC circuits are controlled by a switch-type
circuit breaker. When the indicator light next to the
switch is illuminated, the circuit is activated. The
circuit breaker functions in two ways. It allows you
to manually enable or interrupt a circuit by moving
the switch ON or OFF. They protect the system by
automatically opening the circuit if a short or
overloaded condition occurs.
Check the circuit breaker if a particular piece of
equipment or the boat lights stop working. A tripped
circuit breaker indicates the circuit is overloaded.
You should determine and correct the cause of a
problem before resetting a circuit breaker. See your
Cobalt dealer if a circuit breaker keeps tripping.
