It is recommended that the fire is inspected/serviced
annually by a competent person (e.g. A Corgi Registered
Installer).
It is recommended that the flue is checked for debris.
Turn off the gas supply before commencing any servicing.
After any servicing
ALWAYS
check for gas soundness
and carry out a spillage test as detailed in the section
‘CHECK FOR CLEARANCE OF PRODUCTS OF
COMBUSTION’.
RE-ASSEMBLE PARTS IN REVERSE ORDER.
At yearly intervals, turn off and allow to cool down. Check
all coals, pilot burner/ignition burner unit, for soot/debris
deposits. These can cause imperfect flame appearance
and should be removed by lightly vacuuming. Replace all
misplaced coals and re-light.
NOTE:
On failure of either the pilot burner/ignition unit or
main control valve, repairs should be carried out by a
competent person.
For LPG Appliances Only
Because of the nature of L.P. Gases, there could be
excessive soot particles deposited on the refractories,
therefore it is recommended that this should be checked
at six monthly intervals, by turning off and allowing to
cool down. Check all coals, pilot/ignition unit for soot or
debris deposits. These can cause imperfect flame
appearance and should be removed by lightly vacuuming.
Replace all misplaced coals and re-light.
