V-Gauge Lite Manual V1.2

3” chrome housing. I have not tried this and I cannot be held responsible for damage to the
gauge if it is not successful.
Finally, keep in mind that the V-Gauge Lite performs all of its measurement functions (trip
distance, fuel used, average fuel economy, maximum temperature, etc.), regardless of which
run screen is displayed. There maybe situations when you want to simply tuck it away behind
one of the clamshells and just give it the occasional check. For example, how many gallons (or
liters) of fuel do you go through in a few months of riding? What was the average fuel economy
during that time? In other words, why store it in your tool bag when it’s not being used? Let it
continue to log data, whether you frequently check it or not.
Sunlight visibility
The V-Gauge Lite uses a standard LCD display with good visibility in all daylight conditions.
However, since it is not equipped with a backlight, there is no night time visibility.
Weather resistance
The V-Gauge Lite is not specifically designed to be weatherproof and there was no attempt to
make the housing water-tight. This said, however, occasional exposure to rain should not cause
it serious harm nor interrupt its operation. I would not recommend storing your motorcycle
with the V-Gauge Lite installed outdoors where it will be continuously exposed to rain, snow,
etc. If it ever became seriously water-logged, I would suggest opening the case (by removing
the two screws on the rear) and allowing it to air out in a dry environment. When replacing the
two housing screws, take particular care to avoid cross-threading them since the threads in the
plastic case can be easily damaged.
During one full year of testing on my VRSCR (outdoor full-sun parking on commute days, all-
weather riding, garage storage at night), no problems were ever encountered.
