5. Attach a ratchet to the leg as shown below.
Photo shows the location of the ratchets on the end
rafter legs for BOTH end rafters.
6. Repeat Step 5 for all remaining ratchets to attach
them to the end rafter legs as previously described
and shown above.
7. After attaching all ratchets, complete the next
procedure to install the main cover.
MAIN COVER INSTALLATION (if equipped)
The main cover is secured to the frame using ratchets
and straps. The straps are wrapped around a conduit
that is inserted in a pocket along each side of the cover.
NOTE:
Frames can be ordered with or without covers.
1. Locate the round pipe for the cover conduits and
assemble the two (2) cover conduits.
NOTE:
The number of pipes used in the cover conduit
assembly varies with the length of the shelter.
Like the purlins, the cover conduit assemblies consist of
multiple sections of swaged 1.315" pipe at 75" in length
(part #131S075) and one (1) additional plain 1.315" pipe
at a shorter length (part #131P0XX) determined by the
shelter, where XX represents the remaining length
required to complete the conduit assembly and to reach
the end of the shelter.
2. After assembling the two (2) cover conduits of equal
length, locate the main cover and spread it out on
the ground.
NOTE:
Use a hammer and wood block to seat the pipes
of the cover conduits.
3. Insert the cover conduits into the pockets on each
side the main cover as it is positioned on the
ground.
4. After the cover conduits are in place, position the
main cover so it can be pulled over the frame.
WARNING: TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE COVER
AND TO PREVENT SERIOUS PERSONAL INJURY,
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO INSTALL THE MAIN COVER
ON WINDY DAYS.
5. With the proper assistance, pull the cover over the
shelter and into position.
6. Center the cover end-to-end and side-to-side as
needed.
7. Using the straps that are included in the main cover,
secure the ends of the main cover to the ratchets
attached to the end of the end rafters.
NOTE:
Do not tighten at this time.
8. After the ends of the main cover are secured to the
frame, locate the 1" x 3' straps used to secure the
sides of the main cover to the frame.
