Please read the entire instruction manual before using the product and then save
it for future reference. We reserve the right for any errors in text or images and any
necessary changes made to technical data. In the event of technical problems or
other queries, please contact our Customer Services.
Safety
• The product should not be taken apart or modified. Never try to open
the casing. The casing houses dangerous current-carrying, non-insulated
components. Contact with these can lead to fire or electric shock.
• Never subject the product to high temperature, dust, heavy vibration, impacts,
humidity or moisture.
• Do not place the product where there is a risk of it falling into water or other
liquid. Do not place any objects which contain liquid onto the product such as
vases, drinks, etc.
• Do not cover the product. The product’s ventilation openings must not be blocked.
• Place the product on a stable, flat surface.
• Do not place the product in constant sunlight or near naked flames such as
wood stoves, lit candles, etc.
• Do not place the product in a confined space with poor air circulation.
Adequate ventilation is required to prevent the device from overheating.
• Do not place the product on soft surfaces such as cushions or quilts.
Place the product on a hard surface to ensure adequate ventilation/cooling.
• The product is intended for indoor use only.
• Protect your hearing. Listening on high volume for prolonged periods can lead
to permanent hearing loss.
Buttons and functions
Use
Charging
• Switch the speaker off, charge it only when it is switched off.
• Connect the included charger lead to the speaker’s Mini USB port (8) and to
a computer or other USB charger.
• The LED charge indicator, located in the diffuser, will shine red while charging.
• The LED will go out once charging is complete.
• The LED will flash whenever the battery needs charging.
Backlight
1. Press the [ LED-M ] button to toggle between LED modes. The display will
show “LED1”-“LED2”-“LED3” or “LED4” indicating the LED mode selected.
2. Hold the [ LED-M ] button down to turn off the LED lighting effects. The display
will show “LOFF”, once the LED effect lighting has successfully been turned
off. Hold the [ LED-M ] button down to turn reactivate the effect lighting.
Bluetooth connection
1. The speaker starts in Bluetooth mode whenever it is turned on. “blue” will
show on the display.
2. Activate Bluetooth on the device to be paired with the speaker.
3. The speaker will appear on your device as
HZ-9450B
, select it and pair it with
your device.
4. An audible signal will be emitted once the speaker has successfully paired
with your device.
5. Start playback on your device. Set the desired volume levels both on your
device and the speaker. Playback can be controlled directly from the speaker
or from your device.
Note:
• If you are prompted to enter a PIN code on your device, you should enter
0000
(four zeroes). Certain devices may also require you to approve the connection.
• If you have connected a mobile phone to the speaker via Bluetooth and
receive a call (or make one) whilst you are listening to music, the music
will be switched off automatically. Once the call ends, music playback will
automatically be resumed (if your phone settings supports this).
AUX playback from an externally connected device
1. The speaker starts in Bluetooth mode whenever it is turned on.
2. Plug a 3.5 mm audio cable into the speaker’s input socket (10) and the other
end to your device.
3. The speaker will automatically switch over to AUX mode. “AUX” will appear on
the display.
4. Start playback on your device.
5. Check and adjust the volume level on the connected device or the speaker.
6. Other playback settings can be controlled from the external device.
Note:
Use the speaker’s [ l
◄
/V- ] and [

l/V+ ] to change tracks while in AUX mode.
Memory card or USB memory playback
1. The speaker starts in Bluetooth mode whenever it is turned on.
2. Insert a memory card and/or a USB memory into the ports (7 and 9) on
the speaker.
3. The speaker will automatically switch over to USB or memory card mode
depending on the storage device that was connected. “Lod” will show on
the display.
4. Playback will start automatically.
5. Controlling playback directly from the speaker.
Changing audio sources
Press the [ M ] button to toggle between audio sources. Each press will change
playback sources in the following order: Bluetooth/Bluetooth off/memory card/
USB flash memory/AUX depending on the device connected.
Care and maintenance
• Clean the product using a lightly moistened cloth. Use only mild cleaning
agents, never solvents or corrosive chemicals.
• If the speaker is not to be used for a long time, the battery should be fully
charged on a regular basis (every second month) in order to maintain its capacity.
Troubleshooting guide
The speaker will
not switch on.
The battery may be flat, charge the battery.
No sound.
• Check the volume level on both the device and speaker.
• Make sure that the correct audio source is selected.
• Check that all of the electrical cables are intact and
properly connected.
• Make sure that any Bluetooth connection has been
properly established.
• Test the playback from your external device before
connecting it to the speaker to ensure that it works.
• Check to see that MUTE is not activated on your
connected device.
• Try playback using another file format e.g. MP3. The file you
are attempting to play may be incompatible or damaged.
The speaker is
malfunctioning.
Turn off the speaker, disconnect the connected device and
turn the speaker on again.

This product should be disposed of in accordance with local regulations.
