Connecting Power to the Router

Cisco 12010, Cisco 12410, and Cisco 12810 Router Installation and Configuration Guide

OL-11496-01

2400 W DC Connections

Use the following procedure to connect the DC source power cables to a 2400 W
powered router.

Step 1

Remove the clear plastic safety cover that fits over the DC power connection
terminal studs.

Step 2

Connect the 2400 W DC power cables in the following order (

a.

Ground cable first.

b.

Positive cable next.

c.

Negative cable last.

d.

Repeat Steps a, b, and c for the other PDU.

Warning

To prevent injury and damage to the equipment, always attach the ground and
source DC power cable lugs to power shelf terminals in the following order:
(1) ground to ground, (2) positive (+) to positive (+), (3) negative (–) to
negative (–).
