in places where dangerous voltages could appear if the installation suffers an earthing fault
(around the centre, within the centre, etc.).
The recommended distance between the hardware earthing and the auxiliary earthing
is 5 times the diagonal of the substation or transformer substation premises. The
separation distances shown in this manual's connection diagrams are minimum
distances that must be increased based on the dimensions of the transformer
substation or substation.
Once the connections are made, select step voltage mode in the PDA and enter the maximum fault
current (value provided by the supply company).
7.2.- CONTACT VOLTAGE
To perform the contact test, the weights must be connected to each other using a safety jack cable
and also connected to one of the unit's voltage terminals. Connect the other voltage measurement
terminal to anything metallic in the transformer substation or substation (truss, door, casing, etc.)
that may be exposed to dangerous voltages in the event of an earthing fault.
As shown in the following image, the weights are connected with a "banana" safety jack cable.
