CIAT AQUACIAT ILZC 90Z Installation, Operation, Commissioning, Maintenance Download Page 16

The AQUACIAT Series ILZHE - ILZC are composed of a com-
plete hydraulic module units including :
– 1 buffer tank in painted steel, thermally insulated (ILZHE
only).
– 1 expansion vessel.
– 1 automatic air vent.
– 1 safety valve calibrated at 4 bars (approx.).
– 1 to 2 drain valves (according to models).
– 3 electrical heating elements inside the buffer tank (auxiliary)
(ILZHE only).
– 1 3-speed (models 22 to 65) or a 1-speed pump (models 90
and 130).
– 1 winter protection of the unit (heater integrated in the
hydraulic module).
– 1 safety thermostat (internal temperature of the tank limited at
78

°

C).

– 1 differential water pressostat.

The circulating pump offers a choice of 3 speeds.  The speed
will be determined as a function of the installation pressure
drops and of the unit’s available pressure curves.

To modify the circulating pump speed :

–

on models 22 to 30, turn the circulating pump adjusting wheel

– on models 50 to 65, open the circulating pump hood and re-
position the removable contact.

–

Install a filter upstream from the unit water inlet.

– Respect the flow direction indicated on the unit pipes (inlet –
outlet).
– The pipes are carefully insulated in order to avoid losses and
condensation.
– The pipes should not be subjected to any stress.
– Flexible connections are recommended for the connection of
water pipings in order to reduce to the minimum the trans-
mission of vibrations to the building.  These connections have
to be assembled when the unit is installed on resilient mounts
(vibration isolators).

– Drain the unit when there is a risk of frost.
– Utilization of glycol must not overpass 15% in order not
to damage the unit.

Note : the maximum working pressure on the water side will be
3 bars (approx)..

"

The AQUACIAT Series ILZHE are designed in conformity with
the European norm EN 60204.1.

They conform to the machines and CEM directives.

All the wirings must be carried out as per the regulations in force
on the installation site (in France, the NFC 15100).

In all cases, refer to the electrical diagram enclosed with the
unit.

Respect the characteristics of the electrical supply indicated on
the data plate.

The voltage must be within the range mentioned :

Power circuit :
230 V

+

0

6 %

–10 %

 - 1 ph - 50 Hz + earth + neutral

(model 22 to 30)

400 V

+

0

6 %

–10 %

 - 3 ph - 50 Hz + earth + neutral

(model 50 to 13)

The cable will be determined as a function of :

– The maximum nominal intensity.

– The distance between the unit and its original supply.

– The protection originally planned.

– The exploitation conditions of the neutral.

– The electrical liaisons (refer to the electrical diagram of the
unit).

The electrical liaisons are to be carried out as follows :

– Connection of the power circuit.

– Connection of the protection conductor on the earth terminal.

– Possible connection of the electrical heating elements load
shedding/repowering potential free contacts, heating oper-
ation, cooling operation.

– An opening in the unit casing allows the passage of supply
cables.

"

MRS 5.1 control and display module

The AQUACIAT Series ILZHE are equipped with a display and
control module with MRS5.1 type microprocessor.

Main functions :

– Hot or cold water temperature control.

– Two types of controls possible.

– Fix setting on the water return.

– Drifting of the set point as a function of the outside tempera-
ture (standard configuration).

The MRS5.1 presents the following characteristics :

– Control of operating parameters.

– Defrosting of unit by cycle reversal.

– Fan(s) speed variation in cooling mode.

– Faults diagnosis (level 0, 1 and 2 faults).

– Memorization of faults in case of current cut.

– Shedding and repowering of electrical auxiliary supplies.

The compressor operation is under the dependance of the elec-
tronic module.  As a function of the difference between the cold
water (or hot water) return temperature and the calculated set-
ting, the electronic module will request compressor running or
stop. The cold or hot water control sensor is positioned on the
exchanger water return.

Below –10

°

C outside temperature, the thermodynamic unit

stops and the electrical auxiliary units take the relay.

The ILZHE can be controlled through 3 types of external
controls :

– The Climbox 3 programmer.

– The all or nothing entries.

– The MCAD5 remote control.

"

Control of unit by CLIMBOX 2 programmer

 (optional)

The CLIMBOX 2 programmer is available in the catalogue. It
allows controlling installations such as fan coil units or heating/
cooling floor.

It integrates the following functions :

– Selection of following modes : heating/cooling/stop/comfort/
economy/frost free.

– 2 zone regulation for fan coil units installations.

– Fault display (levels 1 and 2 faults).

– In case of level 1 fault, relaunching of electrical auxiliary
devices for 48h. reheating (while waiting for repair).

Used with and EDF (France) electronic counter, it integrates
also the following functions :

– Shedding of electrical auxilary devices.

– Adaptation of the regulation for “ Tempo ” price.

In the case of a unit controlled by CLIMBOX 2, the MRS5.1 card
offers an automaticity control (AC). You can connect a contact
(example : clock, ...) between 10 and 12 on the J2 terminal
block :
– closed contact : unit authorized to run
– open contact : unit is stopped

ATTENTION :

do not connect a phase on a neutral on terminals

10 and 12 of terminal block J2 .
