If frequent jump starting is required to start
your vehicle, have the battery and charging
system inspected at an authorized dealer.
MOVING A DISABLED
VEHICLE
The vehicle does not include a Manual Pull
Out of Park feature (to allow shifting the
vehicle transmission into Neutral without
having a running engine). If the vehicle has
become disabled (cannot achieve “Ready” to
Drive), it may be possible to move the vehicle
to the side of the road by pushing it.
Follow These Steps To Move A Disabled
Vehicle:
1. Press the Engine START / STOP Button
until RUN has been selected.
2. Press Brake Pedal and Turn OFF the
Electric Park Brake (EPB) if it was
engaged.
3. Press the Brake Pedal & Shift out of Park.
4. Release Brake Pedal - vehicle should now
be free to roll. Make sure to maintain
control of the vehicle while the EPB is not
applied and the vehicle is not in Park.
5. After moving vehicle, shift transmission
back into Park. Apply EPB as appro
-
priate.
NOTE:
If the vehicle's 12V Battery has been suffi
-
ciently discharged that it cannot provide
sufficient power to allow shifting out of
Park or disengaging the EPB, a 12V DC
jump pack can be connected to the under
vehicle jump posts. However, if connection
is lost to this auxiliary power source, or the
auxiliary source becomes discharged, the
vehicle may attempt to secure itself by
shifting back into Park.
If the vehicle is being pushed, it should
not be pushed more than 1 mile, and the
pushing speed should not exceed 10 mph.
CAUTION!
The rear 12V DC outlet is not controlled by
the vehicle's ignition (the outlet provides
power even when the ignition is “OFF”).
Accessories (i.e., cellular devices, etc.)
plugged into the rear 12V power outlet may
draw sufficient power, even when they are
OFF (in standby mode), to discharge the
vehicle's 12V battery. If the device is allowed
to continue drawing power, eventually the
vehicle’s 12V battery will discharge
sufficiently to degrade battery life and/or
prevent the engine from starting.
