You also require 3 x 1.5 V batteries (AA type) for the light
chain. These are not supplied with the article.
Assembly
CAUTION!
■
Beware of falling!
Make sure that the ends of the light chain
and the pegs do not present a trip hazard.
■
Read through the assembly instructions carefully before as-
sembling the article.
■
Always anchor the article in a
fi
rm surface when using it with
the ground spike.
Inserting / Changing Batteries
1. Open the battery case by
fl
ipping up the two locking catches
and opening up the battery case cover.
2. Insert 3 x 1.5 V batteries of the AA type. Pay attention to the
correct polarity (+ / –).
3. Flip the cover shut again and close the two locking catches
again. You should feel and hear them click into place.
Use with Ground Spike
1. Plug together the ground spike and the holding rod and anchor
fi
rmly in the ground or in a
fl
ower pot.
2. Hang the light chain with the eyelet on the hook on the holder.
3. Secure the two ends of the light chain on the pegs.
4. Anchor the pegs in the ground or in a
fl
ower pot. When you do
this, make sure that the light chain is pulled far enough apart.
The pegs must be fully anchored in the ground and must not
stick out.
5. Store away the battery case so that it is protected from persis-
tent wet conditions (e.g. also hang it on the hook on the ground
spike).
Use with Suction Pads
1. Attach one suction pad with a hook on a smooth, non-greasy
surface. For a secure hold, make sure that the suction cup is
free of residues as well.
2. Hang the light chain with the eyelet on the hook on the suction
pad.
3. Secure the two ends of the light chain on the other two suction
pads.
4. Attach the two suction pads on a smooth, non-greasy surface.
When you do this, make sure that the light chain is pulled far
enough apart.
5. Store away the battery case so that it is protected from persis-
tent wet conditions.
A suction pad with a hook and pegs can also be used in
combination to secure the article if for example there are
fl
ower pots in front of a window in which the pegs can be
fi
rmly anchored.
Use
1. To switch on the article, press the On / Off switch once for the
timer or twice for constant operation.
The timer should be switched on when darkness begins to
set in so that the presettings switch the article on again in
the evening.
Sequence: 6 hours on, 18 hours off.
2. To switch the article off again, press the On / Off switch either
twice (with timer setting) or once (with constant operation).
Cleaning and Storage
CAUTION!
■
Do not use any caustic or abrasive cleaning agents for clean-
ing. These can damage the surface.
• Clean the article with a damp, soft cloth and, if necessary, mild
cleaning agent. Then dry it fully with a dry, soft cloth.
• Keep the article in its original packaging out of the reach of
children and animals in a dry, clean place that is protected from
direct sunlight and frost.

Disposal
The packaging material is recyclable. Dispose of the pack-
aging and the article in an environmentally friendly manner
and take them to a recycling centre.
The batteries should be removed prior to disposal of the
article and disposed of separately from the article. To protect
the environment, non-rechargeable and rechargeable
batteries may not be disposed of with normal household
waste, but must be taken to suitable collection points.
Also note the relevant statutory regulations governing the
disposal of batteries.
