GLASS REMOVAL / INSTALLATION
1. Remove the two (2) screws in the glass frame.
2. Tilt the bottom edge of the glass outward and lift glass
up and off firebox.
3. Re-install all parts in reverse order.
GLASS MAINTENANCE
1. Never attempt to clean the glass with the unit operating.
The glass will usually remain clean, but any dirt should
be removed using an approved glass cleaner or soap
and water. Do not use abrasives, oil, wax-type cleaners
or cleaners containing ammonia to clean the glass.
2. Inspect the glass regularly for cracks or breaks. If found,
turn the fireplace off immediately and replace the glass.
Special high temperature ceramic glass is required. Use
only
replacement glass from a Chinook Fireplace dealer.
Note:
As a direct result of the performance and efficiency of
the unit, you will notice condensation forming on the glass
upon start-up. This condition should be considered normal
and should disappear in a few minutes.
LOGS & COALS
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Note:
Improper log installation may result in poor lighting
and combustion or other unsafe conditions. This appliance
comes equipped with a four-piece ceramic fiber log as labeled
below. Also, included is a package of material to provide
the look of glowing coals or ashes.
Do not
use any
materials other thatn approved parts by Chinook Fireplace.
1. Remove all packaging materials from logs and from inside
the combustion chamber.
2. Place the ember support mesh on top of the rear burner.
3. Place the log bracket onto the burner carryover.
4. Place the
rear log
in the back of the combustion
chamber. It should rest against the stops behind the
rear burner and be centered left to right as per figure 1.
5. Place the
left hand side front log
behind the front
burner as in figure 2.
6. Install
coals
. Place coal material in front of front burner.
Do
not
place on rear burner. Leave material in a
loose condition. Make sure lighting is not affected.
7. Nest the
right hand side front log
onto the left portion.
8.
Install
top log
as per illustrated in figure 4.
9. Reinstall glass front. Do not operate with glass
removed!
Note:
Once logs are in position, light the burner and
observe the flame pattern. Flames must not impinge
heavily on log. Lighting should be instantaneous and rear
flames should not impinge heavily on top log. The front
burner may impinge on front log, but should not produce
carbon buildup.
