VENT SAFETY PROGRAM

This fireplace is equipped with a vent safety shutdown
switch. This switch is factory installed, wired and
tested. Check and make sure the switch and wires are
in the proper position. The safety switch is heat acti-
vated and wired in series with the pilot system.

Note: 

Operation of this fireplace, when not connected

to a properly installed and maintained venting system
or tampering with the vent safety shutoff system, can
result in carbon monoxide (co) poisoning and possibly
death.

CHECKING PROPER VENT ACTION

Periodically check for proper vent action and at least
annually inspect venting system for any blockage.

1. Operate appliance for at least 15 minutes with heat
    circulating fan off.

2. Using a match or cigarette, check to see that air is
     being drawn into draft hood located behind the top
     air outlet grill (see illustration below).
