Installation Instructions

CM4

5

INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS

The CM4 has been designed to be mounted directly onto the
wall, or onto an accessory.

Power Requirements and Wiring

The CM4 requires 120VAC (220/240VAC 50 Hz for European
installations) power to operate.

A  9 foot long power cable (S) is provided with the mount.

INSTALLATION

Pre-Installation Configuration

The CM4 horizontal movement limits are factory-set to the least
extended setting for both the right and left speaker arms. Do
NOT adjust the limits before installation. (See Figure 1) This will
prevent possible damage from the speaker arms extending too
far before the CM4 is completely set up.

Locating Mounting Site

WARNING:

IMPROPER INSTALLATION CAN LEAD TO

MOUNT FALLING CAUSING SEVERE PERSONAL INJURY
OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT! It is the installers
responsibility to make certain the structure to which the
mount is being attached is capable of supporting five times
the weight of the CM4 and all attached equipment not to
exceed 240 lbs (108.86 kg).

1.

Identify a suitable wall location for the CM4 taking into
consideration the possible 9 foot (2.74 m) full extension of
speakers.

2.

Using a stud finder, locate and mark the two studs to which
the CM4 will be installed.

WARNING:

ELECTRICAL SHOCK HAZARD! CUTTING

OR DRILLING INTO ELECTRICAL CORDS OR CABLES
CAN CAUSE DEATH OR SERIOUS PERSONAL INJURY!
ALWAYS make certain area behind mounting surface is free
of electrical wires and cables before drilling or installing
fasteners.

WARNING:

EXPLOSION AND FIRE HAZARD! CUTTING

OR DRILLING INTO GAS PLUMBING CAN CAUSE DEATH
OR SERIOUS PERSONAL INJURY! ALWAYS make certain
area behind mounting surface is free of gas, water, waste, or
any other plumbing before cutting, drilling, or installing
fasteners.

After preparing the area for the CM4, all electrical and signal
wires and cables should be routed and support hardware (J-
box, outlets, etc.) installed.

NOTE:

The speaker wire for the center speaker is NOT pre-

installed on the CM4. This speaker wire must be
installed and routed from the wall to be attached to the
CM4 later in the installation process.

WARNING:

ELECTRIC SHOCK HAZARD! IMPROPER

WIRING CAN LEAD TO DEATH OR SEVERE PERSONAL
INJURY! Wiring MUST BE performed by qualified
electricians.

1.

Determine appropriate location for outlet and install.

2.

Route electrical wires to outlet.

3.

Route all signal wires to hole in drywall.

4.

Provide power to outlet.

Installing CM4 Directly to Wall

1.

Determine the desired height of the center of display
screen.

2.

Measure up 9-1/8" from that point  to mark location of the
upper bracket.

3.

Using a level, mark the wall on each stud to install the upper
wall bracket (Q). (See Figure 2)

4.

Drill 1/4" pilot holes at markings.

5.

Use two 5/16 x 2-1/2" lag bolts (A) and two 5/16" flat
washers (E) to attach bracket to wall. (See Figure 2)
