Limitations of Infrared Wireless Microphone System
1.IR is for indoor use only. Never try to use an IR system in outdoor.
2.IR is for small room use only. Never try to use an IR system in a big hall with
high ceiling.
3.IR is not suitable for a brightly lit area or an area with large or many windows.
4.The medium of carrier is infra-red ray. Line-of-sight is best. Never cover up the
radiator or receiving sensor. Transmitter should stay as close as possible to the
receiving sensor.
5.IR transmitter consume higher current.
How to achieve best result with IR system ?
1.Install receiving sensor in various position in the room to achieve best receiving
at different position.
2.Install the extension sensor at half of the classroom height to achieve maximum
receiving angle.
3.Line-of-sight is best. Transmitter should stay as close as possible to the receiving
sensor.
4.Dim the light of the room and close the curtain if the room is brightly lit.
Simple DIY diagnosis
1.No sound
1.1 Check power supply
Please check the power supply of the receiver / amplifier and whether Battery
has been correctly inserted into the transmitter.
1.2 Check IR frequency
Please check the frequency label of the transmitter. Both transmitter and receiver
must have a matching IR frequency. When the transmitter with the correct IR
frequency is switch on, IR indicator will be lighted up at the receiver end.
1.3 Check speaker connection.
If the above are ok., please check the speaker connection to the amplifier.
2. Operating range is short
2.1 Position of the receiving sensor
Please place the receiver / amplifier with the built-in sensor at least 1.5m above
the ground and make sure that the sensor is not been blocked.
2.2 Additional receiving sensors.
If the built-in sensor does not provide enough coverage, please add two more
extension receiving sensors ( IS-20 ) to the receiver / amplifier. Remember to place
the two sensors at left and right or rear end of the classroom and at half-height
position of the room to get the max. receiving angle.
2.3 Add curtain to glass windows.
If the room has many glass windows and is brightly lit, please cover it with dark
colored curtain.
2.4 Change transmission power of the IR emitter
Put the power selector switch of the transmitter to HI ( High ) for higher
Transmission power.
