Locating the equipment
The CheckBox HSv430 must be located indoors in a dry area. The HSv430 should be
located close to power and the Internet connection.
Connecting the equipment
The CheckBox HSv430 will connect to your DSL, fiber, satellite, or cable modem using
an Ethernet network cable. Connect one end of a cable to the port marked
Internet
on
the CheckBox and the other end to your Internet connection. Depending upon your
particular modem the jack may be marked “LAN”, “PC”, “Host” or something else.
The ports marked
LAN
will connect to your CheckBox access points and wired
devices such as computers, point-of-sale systems, security cameras etc. These
devices may connect directly through the CheckBox or through Ethernet switches.
CheckBox Access points receive power and data through the same cable (known as
power-over-Ethernet or PoE). Make sure you use the PoE adapter included with your
CheckBox access points or appropriate PoE switches when connecting your
CheckBox access points to your controller.
Guest traffic should not be connected through other routers before being connected to
CheckBox. Routers connected between the guests and the CheckBox will cause
failure to identify individual devices on the network and failure to authenticate users
properly.
The jack marked
Power
connects to the included AC power adapter.
