Important note: for the 3P earth and the resistivity measurement, the instrument goes back to
MANUAL mode if the frequency is changed during the measurement.
The "CONFIG" mode is exited:
- when all the modifiable parameters have been swept, or
- by pressing the

key, or
- by pressing the START/STOP button (to start a measurement), or
- by changing the position of the 5-position switch.
The DISTANCE function (second function of CONFIG.FREQUENCY key) is only used for the
ground resistivity measurement.

This function can be activated before or after a measurement and is used to enter distance values to
be used to calculate the resistivity.
If the Wenner calculation method is used : only one distance « d » is entered.
If the Schlumberger calculation method is used : 2 distances « d » and « A » are entered.
3.2 MEM / MR KEY
The first function of this key (MEM) is used to store the measurement results in the internal
memory of the unit.
The instrument has a memory capacity of 64 kB which represents 512 records whatever the function
chosen.
Each measurement is stored in a memory location identified by indices :
- for the resistance measurement (m
Ω
) and the earth measurement (EARTH, 3 pole position), the
location is identified by two indices OBJ :TEST ; a single object (OBJ) can contain 99 tests ;
- for the earth coupling measurement (EARTH COUPLING, 3 pole position) which consists in 3
consecutive measurements R1, R2 and R3 (see § 4.2 p14), the result of each measurement is
stored in the same location OBJ:TEST defined on the first measurement, with the extensions 1,
2, 3 and 4 for the earth coupling calculation ;
- for the ground resistivity measurement (
ρ
position) , the result of each measurement is stored in a
location OBJ:TEST:DISTANCE ; OBJ:TEST is defined on the first measurement. If the distance
is changed for the next measurement, the device will propose the same OBJ:TEST, but
DISTANCE will have the new value for the changed distance.
For all the measurements, the storage procedure is the same:
