100430 - 6500W ELECTRIC START GENERATOR
OPERATION
25
The master circuit breaker may also trip if the generator is
overloaded but the module will not indicate a fault.
To test the operation of the GFCI module, perform the following
steps:
1. Start generator.
2. Press the “TEST” button on the module. The green LED
should turn off and the red LED should start blinking. The
circuit breaker should trip to the “OFF” position.
3. If module LED or circuit breaker does not trip or change state,
DO NOT USE generator until both components have been
serviced or replaced.
4. Press “RESET” button on the module. The red LED should
turn off and the green LED should turn on.
5. Manually reset the circuit breaker rocker switch to the “ON”
position to restore power to the receptacles.
Eco (Economy) Mode
The Eco Mode switch can be activated to turn on economy control
in order to minimize fuel consumption and noise while operating
the unit during times of reduced electrical output. Eco Mode
allows the engine speed to idle during periods of non-use.
The engine speed returns to normal when an electrical load is
connected. When the economy switch is off, the engine runs at
normal speed continuously.
CAUTION
For periods of high electrical load or momentary fluctuations,
the Eco Mode should be off.
Stopping the Engine
1. Turn off and unplug all connected electrical loads. Never start
or stop the generator with electrical devices plugged in or
turned on.
2. Let the generator run at no-load for several minutes to
stabilize internal temperatures of the engine and generator.
3. Press the ignition switch to the “OFF” position.
4. Turn the fuel valve to the “OFF” position.
Important:
Always ensure that the fuel valve and the ignition
switch are in the “OFF” position when the generator is not in use.
NOTICE
If the engine will not be used for a period of two (2) weeks or
longer, please see the
Storage
section for proper engine and
fuel storage.
