Disassembly and Assembly
FUEL FILTER AND FUEL FILTER BASE -
INSTALL (PRIMARY AND SECONDARY
FUEL FILTERS)
Installation Procedure
IMPORTANT: Care must be taken to ensure that fluids
are contained during performance of inspection,
maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the
product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with
suitable containers before opening any
compartment or disassembling any component
containing fluids.
Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations
and mandates.

WARNING: Hot engine components can
cause injury from burns. Before performing
maintenance on the engine, allow the
engine and the components to cool.

WARNING: Fuel leaked or spilled onto hot
surfaces or electrical components can
cause a fire. To help prevent possible injury,
turn the start switch off when changing fuel
filters or water separator elements. Clean
up fuel spills immediately.
Primary Fuel Filter and Filter Base

1. Inspect all of the O-ring seals for wear or for damage.
If necessary, install new parts.
2. Install the O-ring seals (11) on the plugs (10). Install
the plugs (10) in the filter base (8).
3. Install the stud (8A) in the fuel filter base (8). Tighten
the stud to 70

∙m (52

11 lb ft).
4. Install the four washers and the bolts (9) which fasten
the filter base (8) to the machine.
5. Install the fuel filter element (12) on the filter base (8).
Install the water seperator bowl (13) on the fuel filter
element (12).
6. Connect the hose (14) to the water separator bowl
(13).
