Routine Maintenance
A routine maintenance protocol is vital for the long-term operation of the vessels. For maintenance instructions for
MARS 6 instrument, see the MARS 6 manual (P/N 600284) or MARS 6 iWave Manual (P/N 600832).
After Every Use
• Clean all vessel components. See “Vessel Cleaning” section of this manual.
• Wipe inside of MARS cavity, including the sensors, with a lint free damp cloth.
CAUTION
Only use water and a soft cloth to clean the system. Using other cleaning solutions, brushes, and
materials can cause damage to the device.
Daily
• If installed, remove the ESP-1500+ cable connection from the connector port and thoroughly clean the connector
with a paper towel or soft cloth. Thoroughly wipe and clean both the inside and outside surfaces of the
connector. If necessary, dampen the towel with isopropyl alcohol to assist in cleaning.
Weekly
• Inspect Vessel Components. See "Vessel Inspection" section of this manual for acceptable wear on these
components.
Annually
• Contact CEM Service Department, local CEM subsidiary or authorized dealer for information on CEM Service
contracts.
As Needed
• Bake-out Procedure: See "Liner Bake-out Procedure" for detailed instructions. The bake out procedure can be
used to remove residual acid vapors and other trapped gases from the Teflon® material.
