6. 3D TOMOGRAPHIC EXAMINATION (CBCT)
ONLY FOR 3D DEVICES
The CBCT examination is obtained by three-dimensional reconstruction of the anatomic region X-rayed and can be
consulted both through two-dimensional views and three-dimensional representations generated by a program run on
a workstation (PC).
Read the iRYS software user manual for the instructions for image processing.
Remember to change the single-use protections before positioning each new patient.
Before positioning the patient, make sure that the patient has taken off all metal objects, such as glasses,
removable prostheses, earrings and other removable metal objects at the height of the head. If a radiation
protection apron is used, make sure that the patient’s neck is not covered, otherwise there would be an area
not exposed to the X-ray.
6.1. SELECTING THE EXAMINATION FROM THE CONTROL CONSOLE
3D Examination can be performed only if the X-ray device is connected to a PC on which iRYS software is
installed.
1) Turn on the PC and run iRYS software
.
2) A Daily Check procedure must be completed, upon the first start-up of the day, before performing any 3D
Examination. The daily check procedure is a service procedure with X-ray emission and must be performed
WITHOUT PATIENT.
3)
For instructions, see the section “Acquisition operations” in the dedica
ted iRYS manual.
It is NOT necessary that the patient accesses the X-ray device during the examination selecting procedure,
but only at the end of the procedure described in this paragraph.
Press the HOME icon
to display the FAVOURITES home screen.
If the 3D examination is present in the favourite ones, it
can be selected by touching the relevant icon; if not,
access the 3D section after pressing EXAMINATION.
