5.4.3. CRANIOSTAT MOTOR-DRIVEN SUPPORT
The chinrest is movable only for 3D examinations. Use the
buttons located on the left-hand side of the control
console to raise or lower the chinrest to suit the patient.
Briefly pressing the button, moves the mechanism1 mm up or down, while holding it down moves it continuously at
constant speed.
5.4.4. PAN, DENT AND SIN EXAMINATIONS
1) Adjust the height of the unit to facilitate patient access using the column
up or down movement buttons. The telescopic column moves slowly at
first and then picks up speed. Adjust the height until the bite piece is
slightly higher than the occlusal plane of the patient. That way you induce
the patient to stretch to reach the bite piece helping him or her to stretch
and straighten the neck.
2) Make sure that the bite piece is turned sideways to leave room for the patient. Fit the single-use bite piece
protection.
3) Guide the patient towards the unit so that he or she is in front of the bite piece and can grip the large handles.
The operator and the patient face each other. Ask the patient to rest his or her chin on the chinrest.
4) Ask the patient to move forward one step still gripping the handles until
reaching the position shown in the figure.
5) Adjust the height of the bite piece and turn it inside the mouth letting the
patient bite on it as shown in the figure. The tip of the upper and lower
incisors must sit in the groove of the bite piece. The interproximal space
of the incisors must be on the median line of the bite piece.
.
6) The support abutment can slide up and down facilitating proper
positioning of the bite piece. Then tighten the knob to lock the bite piece
in the correct position.
