Inserting the protection ring is not an
easy task, but it can be done well by not
screwing the whole cage together tightly
yet. The slanted seating of the booms
ensures that the ring is jammed and
does not slip later when it is screwed
together. We therefore strongly advise
against enlarging the holes so that the
ring „slips“ better. This takes revenge
later in the form that the ring can deform
and is not as stable.
The easiest method is to place the ring
centrally in the upper booms and then
feed it through the sides. The straighter
the material is fed through the booms,
the easier it is to move it. It has proved
useful to spread the booms slightly for
this purpose.

Das Einziehen des Schutzrings ist nicht
ganz einfach, lässt sich aber gut dadurch
bewerkstelligen, dass der Ganze Käfig
noch nicht fest zusammengeschraubt
ist. Der schräge Sitz der Ausleger sorgt
dafür, dass der Ring verkantet wird und
später im zusammengeschraubten
Zustand nicht rutscht. Daher raten wir
dringend davon ab, die Löcher zu vergrö-
ßern, damit der Ring besser „flutscht“.
Das rächt sich später in der Form, dass
der Ring sich verformen kann und nicht
so stabil ist.
Die einfachste Methode ist, den Ring
mittig in den Oberen Auslegern zu
platzieren und dann in die Seitenteile
einzufädeln. Das Material lässt sich
umso leichter bewegen, je geradliniger
es durch die Ausleger geführt wird. Es
hat sich bewährt, die Ausleger hierzu
leicht zu spreizen.
