Acquirer
Issuer of data for acceptance of PIN and credit card transactions
Acquirer parameters
Parameters that determine which types of cards the PIN pad accepts and how
the PIN pad handles those card types
Admin device port
The port (default: 4103) on which the payment terminal sends data to
AdminLight
Admin listen port
The port (default: 4101) on which the payment terminal must listen for
commands from AdminLight
AdminLight
Program with which the V400M PIN pad can be operated remotely
Payment card
A card with which payments can be made using a PIN code
CCV

Chip card reader
The card reader that can read the chip on a payment card
Common Terminal Acquirer Protocol
(C-TAP)
A protocol for safely processing transactions
Configuration parameters
Parameters that determine which functionalities are available on the PIN pad.
Some of these parameters are specific to a given point of sale, such as name
and address details
Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol
(DHCP)
A computer protocol that describes how a computer can obtain its network
configuration from a DHCP server
Gateway
A network point that indicates which network address the PIN pad may use
if it has to connect to a destination that is outside the local network
Used PIN pad
A PIN pad that has already been installed and used by a customer before
IP
Internet Protocol
IP address
The number with which a payment terminal that is connected to the internet or a
network can be identified and found by other devices on the internet or network
ITS
Integrated Terminal Solution
Cash register system
The system used by the cashier to start a payment on the V400M
LAN
Local Area Network
LAN network
Two or more computers that are connected to each other directly or via
a shared medium (such as a router)
Local mode
The mode in which the PIN pad can be operated on-site using the PIN pad keys
Magnetic stripe reader
The card reader that can read the magnetic stripe on a payment card
New PIN pad
A PIN pad that has not been installed and used by a customer before

Personal Computer
PIN over IP (PoIP)
The ability to perform transactions using an IP connection certified by the
Dutch Payments Association
