GENERAL
These installation instructions cover the 48TC units with gas heat
and electric cooling. Units are pre-wired and pre-charged with
environmentally balanced Puron
®
(R-410A) refrigerant at the
factory.
See Fig. 1 for model number nomenclature. See Fig. 2 and
3 (size 07), Fig. 7 (size 08-12), Fig. 8 (size 14), and Fig. 9
(size 16) for unit dimensions. See Fig. 4 (size 07) and Fig. 10
(size 08-16) for service clearances. See Fig. 5 (size 07), and
Fig. 15 (size 08-16) for base rail details. See Fig. 6 (size 07) for
thru-the-base charts.
Installation of this unit at altitudes above 2000 ft (610 m) shall be
made in accordance with the Listed High Altitude Conversion Kit
available with this furnace.

Rated Indoor Airflow (cfm)
Table 1 lists the rated indoor airflow used for the AHRI efficiency
rating for the units covered in this document.

Pre-Installation
Complete the following checks before installation.
1. Consult local building codes and the NEC (National Elec -
trical Code) ANSI/NFPA 70 for special installation
requirements.

wear appropriate protective clothing, safety glasses and gloves
when handling parts and servicing air conditioning equipment.

Never test for gas leaks with an open flame. Use a commer -
cially available soap solution made specifically for the detec -
tion of leaks to check all connections. A fire or explosion may
