7. Temperature limiting shall be provided to limit
the movement of the thermostat control knob
to prevent extreme settings.
8. Emergency heat switch for heat pump units
shall disable the compressor in heating mode
and only allow the use of electric heat.
N. Two-Stage Condensate Removal System:
A two-stage condensate removal system shall be
provided. The first stage shall be a slinger ring inte-
grated in the outdoor fan to disperse condensate
onto the condenser coil to be evaporated. The sec-
ond stage shall be a condensate orifice to atomize
condensate into the air stream and disperse it onto
the condenser coil to be evaporated.
O. Fresh Air Vent:
The fresh air vent shall be operated by a concealed
manual control. The vent door shall include a mag-
net to ensure closure. When the vent is open, the
vent shall supply 50 cfm of fresh air.

Operating Characteristics:
Unit shall be capable of starting and running at
115 F ambient outdoor temperature per maximum
load criteria of ARI Standard 310/380.
Q. Electrical Requirements:
All units are provided with power cords. The 265 V
unit requires a field-installed electrical subbase
accessory.
230/208-Volt: Shall be prewired with plug to use
with appropriate wall receptacle as specified on unit
nameplate.
265-Volt: Can be cord-connected or hardwired into
field-installed electrical subbase.
R. Corrosion Protection (CP,RP):
Corrosion Protection (CP,RP) shall be provided for
coastal or corrosive environments to prolong the
life of the product. Minimum requirements are:
1. All outdoor-exposed sheet metal parts shall be
coated with a polyester powder coat paint.
2. Compressor and outdoor-fan motor finish shall
be capable of withstanding 500 hours of salt
spray testing per ASTM B-117.
3. Compressor mounting screws shall be Serma-
gard coated.
4. Outdoor coil fin stock shall be coated and able
to withstand 1000 hours of salt spray testing
per ASTM B-117.
5. Outdoor coil tube sheets shall be made of 316L
stainless steel.
S. Special Features:
Certain standard features are not applicable when
the features designated are specified. Contact
your local Carrier Sales Office for amending
specifications.
1. Insulated Polymer Wall Sleeve (UL94-5V
rated).
2. Deep Wall Metal Wall Sleeve (up to 28-in.)
shall be a one piece extended wall sleeve with
deep wall baffles integrated.
3. Architectural grille shall be polymeric for long
durable life or painted aluminum for a superior
color match to the building.
4. Subbase shall be pre-assembled from the fac-
tory and come with factory options for electri-
cal (receptacle and hardware) or non-electrical.
Subbase shall be UL listed.
5. Hardwire kit shall come with 36-in. of flexible
conduit.
6. Drain kit shall be external (right or left drain)
or internal.
7. Lateral duct kit shall be 18-gage metal with up
to 30% airflow into an adjacent room.
8. Energy management interface kit.
9. Lateral Air deflector shall be used for right or
left air distribution.
10. Security door kit with common keys.
11. Wall thermostats shall be digital and 24 VAC.
