Fluid connection:
■ Never introduce foreign bodies into the circuit.
■ The connection pipes and the regulation or insulation equipment must be set up and supported so as to ensure they do not exert
any force (pressure, torsion or flexion) on the coil piping. It is recommended to use flexible connectors on the connections to prevent
water hammer.
■ Positioning of pipes: connect all piping on the unit (see dimensional drawing)
■ If brazed/welded connections are used, take appropriate precautions to ensure that welding residues do not enter the circuit.
DIMENSION OF THE REFRIGERANT CIRCUITS (Indoor DX coil)
Refrigerant fluid connection :
■ The refrigerant connections between the coil and the refrigerant unit, as well as the leak tests, must be carried out by a specialist
using a method in accordance with best current practices and applicable standards and regulations. The units are supplied with
their pipes capped.
■ Protection elements like caps should be removed at the last moment.
■ Blanking with brazed plugs: remove the plugs by heating them with a blowtorch.
■ Blanking with pressed metal: use a pipe cutter to cut off the end of the pipe no more than 10 mm from the end.
■ Inlet/outlet according to stickers placed near the orifice
■ On grounds of hygiene, SAWING AND GRINDING ARE FORBIDDEN. Use a pipe cutter.
These coils are covered by article 4.3 or are classed as Category I according to the PED 2014/68/EU and are intended for the
construction of pressure equipment in accordance with the European pressure equipment directive (EU) 2014/68. The manufacturer
of the refrigerant unit must perform a risk assessment of the unit's conditions of use to guard against all risks. The manufacturer must
take all steps to ensure that the pressure always remains below the maximum permitted threshold.
Before commissioning coils on chiller units, the following points must be checked :
■ The inside and outside of the pipes and brazed assemblies are sufficiently clean (e.g. check for oil and swarf, and check the caps
blanking pipes and brazed assemblies);
■ The conditions of use comply with the conditions described in the documentation;
■ Check that there are no parts which could damage the coils in their environment of use;
These coils must be monitored and serviced to guarantee their integrity over time;
If refrigerants are used, gas detectors may be necessary. If these fluids are flammable, it is necessary to identify and mark out the
potentially explosive areas. Ensure that these areas do not contain any materials which do not comply with the ATEX regulations.
