Car Park 3 – General installation

5 System calculation
Before any installation, be sure that the system with cables, sensors, LED indicators etc. are correctly
mounted according to the load and voltage drop. Consider the following
Rules of thumb
to achieve
the best-designed installation in every circumstance.
Rules of thumb
1.
NUMBER OF PARKING BAYS
Maximum 90 car park sensors per SBP2MCG324 generator.
2.
NUMBER OF SENSORS PER LINE
Every line has maximum 50 sensors (depending on architecture)
3.
POSITION OF THE CABINET
Distance between cabinet (where the CMCG is located) and the first sensor of each
line
4.
CABLE
•
A maximum of 150 m (490 feet) of wire in a line (branch)
•
Use always unshielded 1.5 mm
2
or AWG16 cable type (single-core or multi-core) .
5.1 Power supply sizing
The number of sensors for each CMCG is based on the maximum current available at the CMCG’s
output and the current consumption for each sensor.
You have to select an approved galvanically separated DC power supply with 28 VDC output. The
best solution is offered by power supply units equipped with a trimmer for fine voltage output
adjustment that ensures consistent delivery of voltage level to 28 V DC.
Power supply
current
Maximum number of sensors
28 V DC / 2.5 A
Up to 50 sensors on a line
28 V DC / 5 A
Up to 90 sensors for one lane
Important note: always use a dedicated power supply unit for each CMCG.
