8.3 CLEANING FLEX TUBE:
To avoid odors and deposits from building up inside the flex tube, rinse the
hose after each use. Remove all contents inside the recovery tank, immerse
the hose in a container of clean water (preferably warm) and, with vacuum
regulator on third speed, aspirate about a quart of water.
Repeat two or three times or until clean, remembering to empty the contents
of the recovery tank each time.
8.4 DESCALING THE BOILER AND ELECTRONIC SENSOR
Extend your machine’s working life by preventing limescale formation in
the steam boiler.
Limescale deposits may build up in the boiler over time and will affect the
efficiency. Your CARICO'S COMPLETE SANITIZING SYSTEM has an exclusive
patented technology which allows you to inspect and clean the special
electronic sensor that monitors the boiler water level.
Limescale deposits will affect other units so they can no longer detect water
levels. CARICO'S COMPLETE SANITIZING SYSTEM has the unique ability to
simply remove the sensor.
We advise you to carry out this operation at least once a year, although the
amount of limescale forming in the boiler is dependent on the hardness of your
water and how often you use your unit. If you see a deterioration in treatment
of steam or limescale coming out of the steam accessories, that means it’s time
to descale sensor and boiler.
We advise you against using water with hardness exceeding 300 grams f
(French degrees) (30 grains).
Proceed as follows: finish off cleaning and wait for the machine to cool down
completely.
Do not, for any reason, carry out your descaling operations when the
machine is still hot since you will risk burning yourself! Wait at least two
hours before proceeding with any maintenance operation.
•
Disconnect the plug from the water supply.
•
Remove the hose from the appliance, to make operations easier.
•
Remove the tank lid and purification tank and empty completely.
•
Carefully turn the machine upside down, identifying the sensor knob
(Pict. 13).
•
Unscrew the electronic sensor by turning the knob counter clockwise, as
shown in Pict. 13.
•
Use the specific funnel (6) to pour approximately half a glass of white
non-distilled vinegar (approx. 0.1 liters) into the boiler (Pict 14). Fasten the
sensor to the boiler entrance by turning clockwise. Tighten without
forcing.
•
Return the appliance to its original position, and replace the tank. Close
the tank lid and refasten it, Picts. 1-6 Chapter 5.
•
Connect the appliance to the water supply and turn on as usual.
•
Turn the boiler on by pressing the function button.
Wait approximately 1 minute, then turn the appliance off. Leave to work
for approximately 12 hours, remembering to shake the machine
a little every now and then, to let the descaling solution work better.
•
Once the stated time has passed, unscrew the electronic sensor by
turning the knob counter clockwise (Pict. 15), take hold of the machine
