Incoming Calls
Occasionally our call centre will
call you via the BuddyButton. You
will hear a ringing sound and you
need to press the SOS button
once to answer. After you have
finished you need to press and
hold the SOS button again to
disconnect the call.
Falls Detection
The BuddyButton has a falls
detection function but this only
recognises sudden impact falls,
not staggered or slumped falls. If
a sudden impact fall occurs and
the BuddyButton hits the floor it
must remain in a lying position for
at least 10 seconds. After this the
device will beep several times and
dial through to our call centre. We
strongly recommend you press
the SOS button yourself if you are
able to, to ensure that the call is
connected to our call centre.
Checking Status – ie
location, battery level
To find out the status of the
BuddyButton including the
location and battery level send
SMS command;
Loc
to the
phone number of the device.
You will receive a response
displaying the time, date, latitude,
longitude, speed, altitude, battery
percentage and a link to google
maps which will display the
location.
If you have any problems with
the equipment please contact
Careline Community Service on
01553 616200 (option 6).
