After using the camcorder for a long time, it becomes hot.
- The camcorder may become hot after using it continuously for long periods of time; this is not
a malfunction. If the camcorder becomes unusually hot or it becomes hot after using it only
for a short while, it may indicate a problem with the camcorder. Consult a Canon Service Cen-
ter.
Playback
Cannot create a story.
- A memory can contain a maximum of 98 stories (not including [Unsorted] and [Video Snap-
shot]). Delete some stories (
0
84) or select a different memory that contains less than 98
stories.
Cannot add scenes to a story.
- In most cases, a story can contain a maximum of 999 scenes. If a story includes scenes
recorded in MXP or FXP mode, the maximum number of scenes may be less than 999 (the
maximum number of scenes).
- You may not be able to add scenes recorded or edited using another device.
- The memory is full. Delete some recordings (
0
54, 100) or initialize the memory (
0
free some space.
- You may not be able to add scenes to a story even if the number of scenes is less than 999.
Cannot move scenes in the gallery.
- The memory is full. Delete some recordings (

Cannot delete a scene.
- You may not be able to delete scenes recorded or edited using another device.
Deleting scenes takes longer than usual.
- When the memory contains a large number of scenes, some operations may take longer than
usual. Save your recordings (

114) and initialize the memory (

Cannot capture a video snapshot scene from a movie.
- You cannot capture video snapshot scenes from scenes recorded or edited using another
device.
- The memory is full. Delete some recordings (

When playing back scenes/slideshow with background music, the music track is not played
back correctly.
- This can occur when you transfer music files from the supplied Camcorder Supplemental Disc
to a memory after repeatedly recording and deleting scenes (fragmented memory). Save your
recordings (
0
114) and initialize the memory (
0
38). Then, transfer first the music files
from the supplied Camcorder Supplemental Disc and only then write back to the memory
recordings made with this camcorder that were previously saved on the computer.
