After us ing the camcorder for a long time, it become s hot.
- The camcorder may become hot after using it continuously for long periods of time; this is not a malfunction.
If it becomes hot very quickly or it becomes too hot to touch, it may indicate a problem with the camcorder.

The battery pack i s exha us ted extremely q u ickly even at normal temperat u re s .
- The battery may have reached the end of its battery life. Buy a new battery pack.
Recording
Pre ss ing will not s tart recording.
- You cannot record while the camcorder is writing previous recordings onto the memory (while the A CC ESS
indicator is on or flashing).
- The memory is full or it already contains 3,999 scenes (the maximum number of scenes). Delete some
recordings ( 41) or initialize the memory ( 31) to free some space.
The point where wa s pre ss ed doe s not match the beginning/end of the recording.
- There is a slight interval between pressing and the actual start of recording. This is not a
malfunction.
- When the pre-recording function is used, the beginning of the scene will differ from when was
pressed.
The camcorder will not foc us .
- Autofocus does not work on the subject. Focus manually ( 49 ).
- Lens is dirty. C lean the lens with a soft lens-cleaning cloth (
102
). Never use tissue paper to clean the lens.
When a su bject flit s acro ss in front of the len s , the image appear s s lightly bent.
- This is a phenomenon typical of C MOS image sensors. When a subject crosses very quickly in front of the
camcorder, the image may seem slightly warped. This is not a malfunction.
Changing the operating mode between recording ( )/record pa us e ( )/playback ( ) take s longer than
usu al.
- When the memory contains a large number of scenes, some operations may take longer than usual. Save
your recordings ( 72) and initialize the memory ( 31).
Movie s or photo s cannot be recorded properly.
- This may occur as movies and photos are recorded/deleted over time. Save your recordings ( 72) and
initialize the memory ( 31).
Playback
Cannot add s cene s to the playli s t.
- The playlist cannot contain more than 99 scenes or 100 hours of scenes.
- You may not be able to add scenes to the playlist if they were recorded or edited using another device.
Cannot delete a s cene.
- You may not be able to delete scenes recorded or edited using another device.
