8. Troubleshooting and Maintenance
8.1 Maintenance and Assembly
User maintenance is required for the CS725 every 7 years.
Do not disassemble the CS725 for any reason. The CS725 instrument is very
complex and is intended to be repaired or maintained only by factory trained
personnel.
It is recommended that the CS725 be calibrated every 7 years to ensure the
gamma ray detector does not drift out of specification and to replace the
internal lithium battery.
8.2 Firmware Update (using command .0xw)
Firmware can be updated using the RS-232 serial communication interface.
See Section 6.3 for instructions.
A terminal communication program (e.g. HyperTerminal) is required to
transfer the new firmware files to the CS725.
As the firmware update involves the transfer of a large file, the BAUD rate
setting can be increased for the duration of the update procedure. The
