2 - SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
WARNING!
•
The accomplishments concerning working environment safety and health regulations indicated by the current
laws (2003/10/EC Directive, 2002/44/EC Directive and 81/2008 Law Decrete) have to be carried out either by the
end-user or by the employer: supplying the adequate individual protecting devices, informing about working
risks, performing sanitary survey, etc…

The over-exposure to the vibrations may cause neuro-vascular lesions to people suffering from circulatory dis
-
orders. In case of symptoms which could be referred to such an over-exposure a specialist has to be contacted.
These symptoms can be torpor, loss of sensitivity, sharp pains, itch, strength reduction or loss, complexion
decolouration or structural modifications. This usually happens in one’s hands, wrists and fingers.
2.1.2 General precautions

Do not use the tool indoor or in case of potentially explosive environment.
•
The chainsaw can be only used by an operator who has been well trained and has attended a course about the
work safety rules.
•
The air compressor to which the tool is connected has to comply with the current Laws and to be equipped with
maximum pressure valves.
•
Use the tool only from the ground, working in a stable and safe position.
•
Always use adequate clothing as called for by the job. Wear tight clothing. Do not wear ties, necklaces or belts
which may get caught in the moving parts. Use anti-sliding shoes and protective gloves (picture H).
•
Wear a noise-abatement headset (picture H).
•
Do not operate, service or repair the equipment if you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs which could
impair your alertness or co-ordination (picture I).
•
Only well trained and qualified personnel, who have read the use and maintenance manual carefully, are allowed
to use the tool.
•
Keep children and animals away from the tool (picture L).
•
Never alter the safety and protective devices.
•
The operator is the only responsible for injuries caused to other people or for damages caused to their properties.
•
Do not use the tool when you are in unstable position or off balance.
•
It is forbidden to operate the tool on ladders.
•
Never cut branches which are close to electric wires.
•
Before any ordinary maintenance operations, read the use and maintenance manual carefully. For any mainte

nance operation which is not indicated in this manual, please contact one of the CAMPAGNOLA S.r.l. Authorized
Service Points.
•
Use the tool just for the aims indicated in ch. “Product description”. Any other kind of use may cause injuries.
•
Disconnect the air fitting from the electric network before performing any maintenance operation.
•
Keep this manual carefully and read it before any tool use.
•
Do not touch the chain or carry out maintenance operations while the engine is on.
•
Keep all the stickers with the safety indications in perfect conditions.
•
Avoid to work in bad weather conditions, such as when it is foggy, heavy rainy or strongly windy.
•
Be careful when cutting free falling branches. They could cause loss of control of the tool.
•
Inhaling atomized oil or wooden dust can cause irritation or intoxication of the operator’s breathing system. In
case of prolonged problems a specialist has to be contacted.
