7.2. Operating with 3 float
switches
See the connection diagram of the float switches
at paragraph 5.3.2.
Float switch G1 starts up the pump.
Float switch G2, with a lower intervention level
stops pump.
Float switch G3, with a higher intervention level
than float switch G1, acts as a high-level alarm
and starts up pump if float switch G1 is faulty.
Activation of the 3 float switches function
The control panel is set by the manufacturer for
the 2 float switches functioning. This setting, at the
moment of switching on, causes the switching on
of the FAILURE LED for approximately 1 second.
Proceed as follows, if the control panel is set to
operate with 3 float switches:
- switch the power off by rotating the main
selector switch with the door-locking device.
- press the AUT-STOP pump button and keeping
the button pressed, rotate the main selector
switch with the door-locking device and switch
on the current.
- wait until the FAILURE LED flashes 3 times and
then release the button.
- the control panel is now set to function with 3
float switches.
When the control panel is set to function with 3
float switches, at the moment of starting-up, the
FAILURE LED does not signal.
8. Motors with thermal protector
The motors can have:
- thermal protector without cables to bring the
signals to the terminal block of the control
panel.
- a construction without thermal protector.
The DR 1000 electronic card with microprocessor
is also capable of recognising the intervention of
the thermal protector connected in series to the
motor windings, without external signals.
The control panel must be set to signal the
intervention of the thermal protector.
8.1. Motors
with
thermal
protector without external
signals
If the MAXIMUM LEVEL
LED remains off at the
moment of starting up, it
means that the control
panel has already been set
to function with the thermal
protector without external
signals.
The intervention of a
thermal protector causes:
- the arrest of the pump.
- normal flashing of the
thermal protector LED for 5 minutes.
If the float switch signal the necessity to
operate the pump, the control panel
carries out 5 restarting tests at 5 minutes
intervals. If, after 5 attempts, the
functioning of the pump has not been re-
established, the pump finally stops and
the overload LED quickly flashing.
Activation of the functioning with thermal
protector without external signals.
The control panel has been set by the
manufacturer for the functioning with motors
without thermal protector signals (on starting up,
the MAXIMUM LEVEL LED remains off).
If the MAXIMUM LEVEL LED lights up for a
second when switching on the control panel,
activate the functioning with thermal protector
without external signals as follows:
- switch the power off by rotating the main
selector switch with a door-locking device.
- continuously press the pump 1 MAN button and
rotate the main selector switch with doorlocking
device to switch the power on to the control
panel.
- wait for the FAILURE LED to flash 3 times and
then release the button.
- the control panel is now set to function with
motors without external signals of the thermal
protector.
8.2. Motors without thermal
protector
If the motor do not has thermal protector,
the control panel must be set as per
functioning with thermal protector without
external signals.
