MANUAL ADDENDUM
4500L-3P-4728
1. GENERAL
The 4500L-3P-4728 differs from the standard 4500L-3P. It has the MODE option and a TRMS
Current Limit. The Current Limit function is adjusted to limit at the programmed value of current
±
1% of the maximum 3-phase current.
2. SPECIFICATIONS
The specifications for the 4500L-3P-4728 are the same as the 4500L-3P-MODE except for the
Current Limit. The Current Limit error is the programmed value
±
0.12 amps
3. CURRENT LIMIT CALIBRATION
Test Equipment: 12.3 ohm, 1500 watt load AC DVM (HP34401A)
10 milliohm current shunt (Isotek Model RUG-Z-R010-0.1)
The Current Limit for the 4500L-3P-4728 is calibrated by temporarily forcing the
Oscillator/Controller to operate in a constant current mode of operation. This is accomplished by
inhibiting the output voltage fault detection.
Before starting the calibration, connect the test equipment as shown in Figure 1. The current shunt
must be connected in series with the load. One side of the load is connected to the power source
Output Neutral terminal block, TB1. The current shunt is connected to the phase being calibrated.
The following calibration must be repeated for all 3 outputs. The calibration is done in the 3-phase
mode at 400 Hz.
Turn on the power source and program the output to the 3-phase mode, 400 Hz and the low voltage
range..
The following steps will retrieve the password so the output fault detection can be inhibited:
1.
Select the ELT screen with the key sequence:
11
ENT
2.
Record the M and S value as the password:
(Example: If the M=15 and S=20, the password is 1520. If M=10 and S=1 the password is
1001)
After recording the password, depress the MON or PRG key one time.
