MONITORING AND TROUBLESHOOTING
4-2
LEDs are described as follows:
•
16Mb - The Ring Speed LED lights yellow when the TRMIM-62A
ring speed is set to 16 Mbps. When it is not lit, the ring speed is set to
4 Mbps.
•
ERR - The Error indicator should
not
be lit under normal operating
conditions. When solid red, the ERR LED indicates a possible
hardware failure.
If the ERR LED remains red after you have investigated, detected, and
attempted to correct the problem as described in Section 4.2, contact
Cabletron Systems Technical Support.
•
MGMT - The Management LED lights green when the
TRMIM-62A’s configuration settings are overridden by the
management module in the MMAC. When it is not lit, the module is
operating under condition of its own default configuration settings.
•
PEN - The Port Enabled Status LED lights yellow to indicate the
associated port is enabled by network management. An enabled port
permits insertion of the physically attached ring station into the Token
Ring. When both the PEN and LNK LEDs are lit for the same port, the
station attached to that TCU port is inserted on the ring. When PEN is
not lit, the associated port is disabled and denies insertion of a station
onto the ring.
When PEN is flashing and the LNK LED is lit, the device at that port
is set at the wrong ring speed and the port is bypassed.
•
LNK - The Link Status LED lights green to indicate that the station
connected to the port is transmitting phantom current, signaling that it
is trying to insert, or gain access, to the Token Ring. When this LED is
not lit, the associated port is not receiving phantom current, either
because no is station attached to the port or an attached station is not
transmitting phantom current.
