5. Remove the replacement module from its anti-static bag. (Save
the bag for any future need.)
6. Handling the module only at the edges, set it into the mother-
board connector at approximately a 45° angle.
7. Push gently down against the upper corners of the module, then
ease it to an upright position until it snaps into place.
Adding or Replacing an Expansion
Card
Location – see Figure 3-3 (on page 3-2 ). Cabletron product codes
(part numbers) differ depending on whether the card is an upgrade
(where no card existed before) or a replacement for an existing card.

* Each upgrade number includes the expansion card, a four-port I/O
connector card, and the nessary hardware to install both cards.
1. If the cover is not already off, remove it. (See page 3-3 .) Then:

If installing a new Expansion card and connector card where
none existed before, go to step 6 .

If replacing an existing connector card, but not the Expansion
card, go to step 5 .
●
If replacing an existing Expansion card, but not the asso-
ciated connector card, go to step 2.
2. Remove the appropriate screws shown in the following figure.
