DIAGNOSTICS

5.3.3

Test Messages

As each slot is tested, a TESTING message is displayed to the right 
of the slot heading in the Diagnostic Slot Menu. Upon completion 
of each test for a given slot, a PASSED or FAILED message will be 
displayed to the right of the slot’s heading in the Diagnostic Slot 
Menu. 

As each test is run, the check box changes to a check mark to 
indicate that the test is running. Comments about the test and 
Status Messages are displayed in the comment box at the bottom of 
the application window. Once the battery of tests is completed for 
a given NuBus slot, the diagnostic program advances to the next 
NuBus slot selected, and the test sequence begins again.

5.3.4

FDDI Results File

Every time you exit the diagnostics application, a file named fddi 
results

 is generated and stored in the folder where the diagnostic 

application resides. This file contains the results for all tested 
NuBus slots, the Network ID address, the SMT and Boot Code 
version, the total passes and errors for each slot, and a Status 
message for each slot.

If you encounter any problems, call Cabletron Systems Technical 
Support. See Getting Help, in Chapter 1. 

NOTE:

Reselect the Network Port in the Network Control panel and 
restart your system after running the diagnostics.
